Randonée guidelines
Outside opening hours
We strongly encourage you not to stay in the ski resort after closing time. Traffic in the facility outside opening hours is associated with danger and is at your own risk.
After closing time, snowmobiles and snow groomers are in operation and the area is seen as a construction site. Some of the snow groomers use a winch, which can be very difficult to spot.
Skiing safety
Our ski slopes are reserved for alpine skiiers and snowboarders and there can be a lot of traffic downhill, especially during weekends.
Please keep in mind that it can be difficult for skiers going downhill to notice skiers going up. However, if you do want to use the slopes for ski touring, we kindly ask that you follow our guidelines and instructions
Your responsibility
If you leave the slopes, go ski touring up in the facility, or use the ski resort after opening hours - you do so at your own risk.
This means that you must be aware of avalanches and various dangers both on and off the slopes. If you are entering avalanche terrain, you should also have enough knowledge avalanche rescue, avalanche terrain and avalanche risk assessment. You can find the avalanche warning at www.varsom.no.
Heading up?
When walking uphill, always walk on the outer edge of the slope.
Pay extra attention at the top of hills and where the slope turns, so that you do not create dangerous situations and collide with a skier going down.
Ski touring in Voss Resort
Many wish to use our ski resort for randonée skiing/ski touring. Our ski slopes are reserved for alpine skiiers and snowboarders and there can be a lot of traffic downhill, especially during weekends. Please keep in mind that it can be difficult for skiers going downhill to notice skiers going up. However, if you do want to use the slopes for ski touring, we kindly ask that you follow our guidelines and instructions.
Use our randonée route
In collaboration with VossaRando (a local randonee organisation), a dedicated trail has been marked from Bavallen, via Tråstølen and to Hangurstoppen. We strongly encourage you to use this; Park the car at the parking by the cattle grid, on the right just after the exit up towards Tråstølen. From here you cross the road and enter the Alphaløypa. Keep to the right up the Alphaløypa and cross the Familieløypa (carefully!). The trail is then marked with bamboo sticks with reflectors to the top. This trail is located aside the slopes and is approx. 5 km.
Using the ski resort after closing time
We strongly encourage you not to stay in the ski resort after closing time. Traffic in the facility outside opening hours is associated with danger and is at your own risk. Snowmaking is also assosiated with danger. Examples are icy snow piles and change of surface with wet snow, even at low temperatures. We use hoses with very high pressure, and electrical cables can be exposed. Contact with these installations and a possible accident due to negligence can have fatal consequences. It is therefore not permitted to be in the ski resort during snowmaking.
